For sun protection a new style of poncho is available

When lycra swim shirts feel too tight or too hot, use a sun poncho instead.
It is loose fitting and airy.

We prefer the lightweight nylon ponchos, as they don't soak up much water and dry quickly.
You can get them in good outdoor adventure shops, just ask for hiking ponchos.
Make sure they have a fastener at the bottom which clips the front to the back and thus keeps it from going over your head in the wind or in water.
Ponchos are similar to anoraks or cagoules, but larger for better air circulation.
